The hysterectomy came after being diagnosed with cervical cancer. For 6 months I endured testing, procedures, and stress waiting to find out if I had cancer or not. Then waiting to find out how extensive the cancer was to determine the path of treatment. Fortunately the cancer had not spread and a hysterectomy was the cure. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI painted these rainbow flowers as a source of healing during my recovery. After 6 months of worry these paintings were my release of that stress. They represent strength, healing, and hope for the future.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor Indigo I chose the Dwarf Crested Iris I had snapped a picture of after a backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail a few months before the surgery. Painting this flower represents the hope I felt that soon I could hit the trail again, this time happy and healthy.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach painting is painted on 4x6 watercolor paper and matted for a 5x7 frame.
