Rainbow Flowers | Blue

The Rainbow Flowers Collection was painted in 2023 while I was on leave from work recovering from a hysterectomy. The hysterectomy came after being diagnosed with cervical cancer. For 6 months I endured testing, procedures, and stress waiting to find out if I had cancer or not. Then waiting to find out how extensive the cancer was to determine the path of treatment. Fortunately the cancer had not spread and a hysterectomy was the cure. 

I painted these rainbow flowers as a source of healing during my recovery. After 6 months of worry these paintings were my release of that stress. They represent strength, healing, and hope for the future.

For blue I chose Blue Hydrangeas. These hydrangeas bloom in my yard year after year, a product of the previous owners eye for beauty and care for this home. At the time of my surgery the hydrangeas were about to bloom and it felt fitting to paint the beauty right in front of me in the present.

Each painting is painted on 4x6 watercolor paper and matted for a 5x7 frame. Frame in photos is NOT included.
