Rainbow Flowers | Yellow

The Rainbow Flowers Collection was painted in 2023 while I was on leave from work recovering from a hysterectomy. The hysterectomy came after being diagnosed with cervical cancer. For 6 months I endured testing, procedures, and stress waiting to find out if I had cancer or not. Then waiting to find out how extensive the cancer was to determine the path of treatment. Fortunately the cancer had not spread and a hysterectomy was the cure. 

I painted these rainbow flowers as a source of healing during my recovery. After 6 months of worry these paintings were my release of that stress. They represent strength, healing, and hope for the future.

For yellow I chose Yellow Canna Lily. The Yellow Canna Lily was gifted to me by a friend who is no longer with us and it was a therapeutic to paint it as the first in the Rainbow Flowers series.

Each painting is painted on 4x6 watercolor paper and matted for a 5x7 frame. Frame in the photos is NOT included.
